Sable Grace here, and I hope you had an amazing weekend. Lately, the world feels heavy, doesn’t it? From news like the train stabbing or the Charlie Kirk shooting to the daily juggle of being moms, wives, and women of faith, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. As a homeschooling mom of five, I know how hard it is to let our light shine when life piles on responsibilities. But here’s the good news: God sees us, and He’s got us. Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Today, I’m sharing three practical ways to let your shine glow, even when life feels like too much.

1. Start Your Day with Prayer and Gratitude Before my feet hit the floor each morning, I thank God for His faithfulness—through the chaos of homeschooling, the joy of my kids’ laughter, and even the tough days. I pray for a watch over my mouth (Psalm 141:3) to speak words that honor Him and for my children’s hearts to be soft and open to learning. This simple habit shifts my focus from overwhelm to God’s provision. Try it: Spend 5 minutes each morning thanking God for one blessing and asking for His peace. It’s like polishing your light to shine brighter.

2. Give Grace Where It’s Needed As a mom, I’ve learned that my kids sometimes wake up feeling like the world’s on their shoulders, just like I do. God’s shown me to offer grace when I want things to go my way—like when a homeschool lesson flops or attitudes clash. Instead of pushing, I start with a compliment (e.g., “I love how you helped your sibling yesterday”) before discussing changes, like a new routine. I also pray for God to soften their hearts beforehand. This approach builds trust and lets our light shine through patience. Try it: Next time you’re frustrated, pause, pray, and lead with a positive word.

3. Foster Respect, Not Agreement I used to think my kids needed to share my opinions, but God’s taught me that respect matters more. When we disagree (like over a homeschool schedule), I encourage them to express their thoughts respectfully while I model the same. This creates a home where everyone’s light can shine without conflict dimming it. Try it: Have a family talk where everyone shares one idea respectfully, then pray together for unity (John 17:21).

Conclusion Ladies, life’s challenges can dim our shine, but God’s peace helps us glow again. Through prayer, grace, and respect, we can let His light shine through us, pointing others to Him.
